  • The Berlin Wall - World Premiere October 3, 2007

STORY HOUSE's The Berlin Wall will air October 3, 2007 at 9pm on Discovery Times Channel. The program, written and directed by Andreas Gutzeit, tells the little known story of the gripping and dangerous events that occurred in the months before and the night of November 9, 1989.

For almost thirty years, the Berlin Wall separated families and took the lives of many whose thirst for freedom drove them to climb over, tunnel under, or sneak around the monstrous barrier. On November 9, 1989 the Berlin Wall fell, signaling the final moments of the Cold War. The Berlin Wall chronicles the story of the refugees, protesters, journalists, East German soldiers and the political leaders of East and West who experienced the events first hand. From the political to the personal, the stories combine to paint a picture of a momentous historical event that was only a hair’s breadth away from ending in tragedy.
