Psychic Detectives
52 x 30 series; 2003-2006; Produced for
truTV (Court TV)
Executive Producer: Andreas Gutzeit;
Series Producer: Anne Garofalo
We are all
fascinated by unexplained psychic
phenomena. Although many people try to
debunk the abilities of psychics, there are
instances when psychic visions and
premonitions defy rational explanation.
However, in the ultra-rational world of law
enforcement, police officers and crime
victims' families often consult psychics to
solve cases that would otherwise go cold.
From mysterious missing persons cases to
unusual murder investigations, psychics are
secretly called on to use their unusual
talents. Typically, police officers deny
using psychic input, but in rare cases, the
psychic information is so compelling that
police investigators are willing to
acknowledge it. Psychic Detectives
explores just such stories—cases
where a psychic's involvement played a key
role in solving the crime.
Psychic Detectives is a 13-part
series for Court TV that takes viewers
behind the scenes and into the center of a
police investigation. Each half-hour
episode follows law enforcement agents and
one clairvoyant investigator as they work
to solve a crime. As each program unfolds,
viewers witness the fascinating techniques
used by both psychic investigators and
street-smart detectives to ultimately close
the case.
The program received a CINE Golden Eagle Award
and a Silver Omni Media Award in 2004, a CINE Golden Eagle Award in 2005, a Bronze Omni Award in
2006 as well as a Silver Omni Award and a Bronze Telly Award in 2007 and 2008.
