Countdown to Ground Zero has been nominated for a News & Documentary Emmy Award by The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The program, produced by STORY HOUSE for The History Channel, was nominated in the category Outstanding Achievement in a Craft: Lighting Direction & Scenic Design. Nominees include Carsten Oblaender, President of STORY HOUSE, and Director of Photography, Stefan Wiesen.

The Awards will be presented Monday, September 24, 2007 in New York City.

Premiere of new Court TV series Missing Persons Unit – August 31, 2006

STORY HOUSE Productions has completed the first season of its new true crime series Missing Persons Unit for Court TV. Missing Persons Unit is an exciting new investigative series which examines the most baffling missing person cases from across the country. The show is presented by veteran investigator George Deuchar, whose own daughter went missing until he recovered her. Each 30-minute episode chronicles a race against the clock, as the “Missing Persons Unit” reconstructs the last days of the missing person's life to learn who they are, and where they might be found.

Additional new episodes will air on consecutive Wednesdays at 9:30pm ET through October 18, 2006.

STORY HOUSE Productions’ The Cole Conspiracy has been selected to receive a CINE Golden Eagle Award for spring 2006. The critically acclaimed drama-documentary was produced and directed by Carsten Oblaender and aired on The History Channel in October 2005.

As America continues to fight its war on terror there is one story that had not truly been told until now. It’s the in-depth account of the tragic event that began this war – and it did not occur on September 11th. It is the story of the bombing of the United States warship Cole in the morning hours of October 12, 2000. A total of 2.97 million viewers watched host Aiman Abdallah as he traced of the legend of a German girl from the 9th century who, disguised as a man, became leader of the Catholic Church.

A total of 3.96 million viewers (3 years and older) followed presenter Aiman Abdallah on his adventurous quest, as he tried to answer the question "Could a tsunami destroy the island of Sylt in the North Sea off the German Coast?"

STORY HOUSE Productions has completed the German adaptation of six episodes of Akte Mord - a weekly true crime series on Germany's RTL II. The shows began airing in the spring of 2004.

Custer – Dance with the Dead airs on ZDF

Custer – Dance with the Dead, a prime time special written, directed and produced by Andreas Gutzeit and Jens Afflerbach aired on June 27, 2004 on German Public Broadcaster ZDF. The documentary follows a team of forensic scientists and archeologists, as they try to uncover the mystery of George Armstrong Custer's last stand at Little Bighorn in 1876.

Blinding Horizon Shown at Congressional Hearing

The STORY HOUSE special Blinding Horizon was shown to members of The US House of Representatives during an October 17, 2002 congressional hearing. The House of Representatives Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations heard expert opinion on "Securing America: The Federal Government's Response to Nuclear Terrorism at Our Nation's Ports and Borders." As part of the committee's deliberations, the documentary was shown to lawmakers. Blinding Horizon was produced for National Geographic Explorer.

Holy War, Inc. Receives Emmy Nomination

The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has nominated Holy War Inc., a Story House Production for National Geographic Explorer, for a News and Documentary Emmy Award. The film will compete for the award in the category of Outstanding Achievement in a Craft: Research. Nominees included Carsten Oblaender, President of STORY HOUSE Productions, and Producer Vicky Matthews.
