As Chief Executive Officer of Story House Media Group, Carsten Oblaender oversees the management of operations of Story House Media Group and acts as General Manger of Story House Productions, Inc. He has executive produced and directed numerous series and specials for National Geographic, Discovery Channel, PBS, truTV, ZDF, ProSieben and others. As part of Discovery’s launch of their 3D channel 3NET, he produced and directed STORY HOUSE’s first 3D special, Rise of the Jellyfish. He has received Emmy nominations for History Channel’s Countdown to Ground Zero and The Cole Conspiracy, as well as for the National Geographic Channel special, Holy War, Inc. which he wrote, directed and produced. Carsten Oblaender began his career as producer for German networks ZDF and SAT.1 before co-founding Story House Productions which has received critical acclaim for its special Last Days of Osama Bin Laden, as well as the adrenaline-filled series The Indestructibles, both produced for National Geographic; the lifestyle series Swamp Brothers produced for the Discovery Channel; World’s Hottest Hotels for Travel Channel; and several true-crime series including Taken: Missing Children with Elizabeth Smart for A&E, Forensic Firsts for Smithsonian, and Main Street Mysteries for Investigation Discovery.

Andreas Gutzeit serves as Chief Creative Officer of Story House Media Group and General Manager of Story House Pictures Inc. He is responsible for coordinating international project development sales and new medias activities while spearheading development, production, and sales of the group’s Fiction department. Andreas Gutzeit began his career with ABC News, where he worked on Prime Time Live, Nightline, and World News with Peter Jennings. Co-founder of Story House Productions, award-winning writer, producer, and director, Andreas Gutzeit has executive produced and directed numerous series and specials for National Geographic, Discovery Channel, PBS, CourtTV/TruTV, Channel 4 (UK), ZDF, ProSieben and others.

Chief Executive Producer Story House Productions GmbH
Jens Afflerbach not only serves as Creative Director of Story House Production GmbH, but also claims the title of General Manager of WEE White Elephant Entertainment, another subsidiary of Story House Media Group. As such, he is responsible for factual documentary and science magazine development and production at STORY HOUSE Germany. An ward-winning writer and director, executive produced and directed numerous series and specials for ZDF, ProSieben, BBC, RTL, and others. Among his accomplishments, Jens Afflerbach has developed and produced many new documentary formats for the international television market including the century chronicle “100 Jahre” (ZDF), “Der grosse Foodcheck” (BBC / ProSieben), the weekly documentary series Galileo Mystery for ProSieben.

Director of Production
Jens Freels serves as Director of Production of Story House Productions. He line produces all Story House projects that are produced in Germany. Leading a team of production managers, he is responsible for the entirety of project budgets. After a first career in the editorial department of TV production, he attended film school in Potsdam-Babelsberg where he studied film production. Then he worked as production manager, director and managing editor before he joined the Story House team in 2011.

Chief Financial Officer
Dr. Robert Preuß serves as Chief Financial Officer of Story House Productions. He is responsible for Financial Planning, Accounting, Controlling, Legal Matters, Human Resources and General Administration. He has a proven track record in leading and optimizing companies from a financial point of view. His most recent assignments before Story House were Media and Internet Companies.

President, 18th Street Films
Karim Chrobog is an award winning filmmaker and the President of 18th Street Films, a strategic alliance partner of the Story House Media Group. Over the past years, Karim has worked on numerous documentaries including Magic Bus, about girls living in the poorest slums of Mumbai, and Netting a Better Future, a film about disappearing fishing communities in West Africa, produced for the World Bank Group. He also produced and directed a number of projects for prestigious clients including the opening program for the 2010 Asian Finance Minister Meetings in Kuala Lumpur. Karim’s last film War Child chronicles the life story of Emmanuel Jal, a former South Sudanese child soldier who became an international hip-hop sensation. War Child is the winner of over 18 international film awards including the Tribeca Film Festival Audience Choice Award, Crystal Heart Award, ABC News Award, Bologna Best Documentary Award, and Norway Best Documentary Award. A graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, Karim has travelled the world, living in Singapore, Brussels, Bonn, Berlin and Dubai. He currently resides in Washington, DC.
