Part 1 – No-name/Generic products: Nelson takes a closer look at the ingredients that are used in these products. In addition, he asks over a 100 persons to taste different products such as orange juice, yoghurt and chips. Can the generic brands keep up with their more expensive rivals?
Part 2 – Brand name products: Premium brands are often considered tastier, of better quality and healthier. Consumers love so-called “luxury brands”. Supermarkets and grocery stores are aware of this trend and offer their own premium products. These days, champagne, fine chocolate, buffalo mozzarella and even sushi can be enjoyed for relatively little money. But does it taste good? How good is the quality of the “luxury” food? And who reaps the higher profit that premium brands enjoy compared to generic brands?
