The Berlin Wall

On November 9, 1989 the Berlin Wall fell, signaling the final moments of the Cold War. Few people realize however, just how close the world came to seeing a repeat of the bloody communist crackdown at Tiananmen Square. The Berlin Wall chronicles the story of the refugees, protesters, journalists, East German soldiers and the political leaders of East and West who experienced the events first hand. From the political to the personal, the stories combine to paint a picture of a momentous historical event that was only a hair’s breadth away from ending in tragedy.
